Ceará Conectado conclui 2ª fase e amplia acesso à internet gratuita no Estado

Programa executado pela Etice chega a 137 municípios com Wi-Fi gratuito na 2ª fase
O Ceará Conectado, programa do Governo do Ceará executado pela Empresa de Tecnologia da Informação do Ceará (Etice), concluiu oficialmente a 2ª fase da iniciativa, ampliando o acesso à internet gratuita em praças e espaços públicos de 137 municípios cearenses. Desde o lançamento da 1ª fase, em 2021, ainda na gestão do então governador Camilo Santana, até a conclusão da 2ª fase, sob a gestão do governador Elmano de Freitas, o programa avançou de forma contínua na missão de levar conectividade gratuita e de qualidade à população.
Ao todo, 59 municípios foram contemplados na 1ª fase (legado) e outros 78 municípios passaram a contar com pontos de Wi-Fi gratuito ao longo da 2ª fase, totalizando 137 cidades conectadas até o encerramento desta etapa. A lista completa dos municípios beneficiados está disponível no site oficial da Etice.
Com a conclusão da segunda fase, a Etice informa que em breve serão divulgadas as informações sobre a 3ª e última etapa do programa, que contemplará 47 os municípios restantes, com o objetivo de alcançar cobertura em todo o território cearense.
Estrutura robusta
A infraestrutura do Ceará Conectado é sustentada pelo Cinturão Digital do Ceará (CDC), uma das maiores redes públicas de fibra óptica do Brasil, com 5.926 km de extensão e cobertura atual em 139 dos 184 municípios cearenses. O investimento posiciona o Ceará como um dos estados mais conectados do país.
Uso crescente do Wi-Fi público
Gerenciado pela Etice, o Programa Ceará Conectado registrou, somente em 2025, a adesão de 883.737 usuários, que realizaram cadastro para utilização do serviço em 186 pontos de Wi-Fi. A média mensal foi de 73.644 adesões, demonstrando a alta demanda da população por conectividade gratuita.
Inclusão digital e compromisso social
Instituído pela Lei nº 17.666, de 10 de setembro de 2021, o Programa Ceará Conectado tem como objetivo democratizar o acesso à internet gratuita em espaços públicos, promover a inclusão digital e social da população e integrar equipamentos e serviços públicos à rede digital.
Com a conclusão da 2ª fase e a preparação para a 3ª etapa, o Governo do Ceará e a Etice reafirmam o compromisso de levar conectividade a todos os cearenses, impulsionando o desenvolvimento, a inovação e a transformação social por meio da tecnologia.
