Comitiva do Banco Mundial visita sistemas de cabo submarino em Fortaleza

Uma comitiva do Banco Mundial liderada por Michel Kerf, Diretor do Regional de Transformação Digital do Banco Mundial para a América Latina, Caribe, Europa e Ásia Central, visitou nesta quarta-feira (dia 28), na Praia do Futuro, duas empresas de cabos submarinos, a Cirius e a Telxius, duas potências mundiais neste segmento.

A agenda se inseriu na programação da primeira visita do Diretor ao Brasil e reforça o compromisso do Banco Mundial em avançar com a agenda de transformação digital do Estado.

A comitiva do Banco Mundial também contou com a presença do subsecretário de de Articulação Interna e Projetos Estratégicos do governo do Estado de Santa Catarina, Emerson Luís Pereira, que tem trabalhado em agendas estratégicas de desenvolvimento catarinense.

Efeitos em outros elos da cadeia produtiva

O diretor do Banco Mundial, Michel Kerf, agradeceu pela acolhida dos anfitriões, Felipe Ferreira Kamael, lead sales engineer da Cirius, David Fernandes Magalhães, encarregado de Telecom e infraestrutura da Cirius – ambos formados em engenharia de telecomunicações no IFCE – e de Rogélio Rodrigues da Silva, gerente da Telxius e Harley Hubert, da Telxius e seus colegas Paulo Henrique Braganholo e Jéssica Moreira.

“A visita valeu para me inteirar melhor como funciona uma empresa de cabo submarino no Brasil”, disse Michel Kerf. “É o futuro. Uma economia para ser produtiva, precisa ter esse tipo de capacidade, com a geração de trabalho e capacitação. A existência do poder de computação ajuda a progredir nessa direção de uma maneira inclusiva, de modo a não ampliar as desigualdades, mas de maneira que toda a sociedade possa aproveitar a possibilidade de crescimento da tecnologia”, assinala o diretor do Banco Mundial.

Integraram a comitiva de visitantes mais três nomes do Banco Mundial: Luis Andrés, economista-líder; Luciano Charlita de Freitas, especialista sênior em transformação digital, e Julian Najles, especialista sênior em transformação digital.

A Etice agendou e participou da visita com o presidente Hugo Figueirêdo, Álvaro Maia, gerente do setor do Cinturão Digital, e Pedro Eudoro, responsável por projetos. O presidente da Etice observou que o cabo submarino fortalece a economia digital, impacta outros elos da cadeia produtiva e dinamiza a economia.

Os data center instalados no Ceará são um exemplo do efeito da economia digital, argumenta Hugo Figueirêdo. Nesta quinta-feira, ele discutiu projetos de interesse da Etice e do Governo do Ceará com a equipe do Banco Mundial.

Felipe Ferreira Kamael informou que a Cirius escolheu Fortaleza para lançar os cabos de fibra óptica em 2000 por considerar que a cidade vinha se consolidando para ser uma das maiores capitais do país. Nas empresas, a comitiva do Banco Mundial, com o secretário catarinense e o pessoal da Etice, foram apresentados à estrutura de equipamentos durante toda tarde de quarta-feira.

Os visitantes percorreram sala de controle, geradores de energia, sala de baterias, controle de automação da energia, terminais de cabos e outros aparatos digitais. Contemplar as máquinas que emitem impulsos de energia e luz a laser para os cabos de fibra óptica fazerem a travessia do Atlântico para outros continentes, em alta velocidade, faz o que pensar no engenho do homem.
