Morreu nesta quinta-feira, (29), aos 82 anos de idade, o ex-jogador de futebol Pelé. Edson Arantes do Nascimento é considerado por muitos o maior jogador da história do futebol mundial. O brasileiro lutava contra um câncer de cólon que já estava em estado de metástase e realizava quimioterapia. Pelé havia sido internado às pressas, em novembro, no Hospital Albert Einstein, em São Paulo.
A família ainda não divulgou detalhes sobre o velório, mas uma estrutura foi montada na Vila Belmiro nos últimos dias para receber a vigília. O sepultamento ocorrerá em Santos.
A TRAJETÓRIA DO “REI”
Pelé iniciou sua trajetória no futebol profissional no Santos, em 1956, com apenas 16 anos. O jogador defendeu o Peixe durante 19 anos, entre 1956 e 1974. Ao todo, com a camisa do Alvinegro Praiano, Pelé somou 663 jogos disputados e 642 gols marcados. Em 1975, o craque brasileiro acertou sua chegada ao New York Cosmos, dos Estados Unidos. Ele vestiu a camisa da equipe norte-americana por três temporadas, totalizando 64 jogos e 37 gols.
PELÉ NA SELEÇÃO BRASILEIRA
Apesar do grande sucesso em clubes, o principal brilho da gloriosa carreira de Edson Arantes do Nascimento está na Seleção Brasileira. De acordo com informações da Fifa, Pelé disputou ao todo 91 partidas com a camisa da Seleção Brasileira. Ao todo, porém, foram 113 partidas com a Amarelinha. Ainda segundo informações da Fifa, em 91 partidas, Pelé marcou 77 gols pelo Brasil. Considerando os números totais, seriam 95 gols.
Em relação a conquistas, Pelé foi imbatível na Seleção Brasileira. O jogador está na história do futebol mundial, tendo conquistado três edições da Copa do Mundo, nas edições de 1958, 1962 e 1970. Além das conquistas do Mundial, Pelé também teve outras conquistas com a Seleção Brasileira: Copa Roca (1957 e 1963), Taça do Atlântico (1960). Taça Oswaldo Cruz (1958, 1962 e 1968) e Taça Bernardo O’Higgins (1959).
CONQUISTAS PELO SANTOS
Por clubes, Pelé também soma conquistas muito importantes. Com a camisa do Santos, o eterno camisa 10 somou duas conquistas da Libertadores, em 1962 e 1963. Ele também foi campeão da Taça Brasil em cinco oportunidades: 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 e 1965. No cenário estadual, o sucesso também foi absoluto, com Pelé somando 11 títulos de Campeonato Paulista: 1956, 1958, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1969 e 1973.
RECORDES INDIVIDUAIS
O brilho de Pelé também passa por seus recordes e prêmios individuais. O “Rei” é até hoje o maior artilheiro da história da Seleção Brasileira, com 77 gols oficiais marcados. Além disso, em relação a Copa do Mundo, Pelé também foi referência, sendo o jogador com mais títulos conquistados (três) e o jogador mais jovem a ser campeão do torneio (na Copa do Mundo de 1958, com 17 anos e 249 dias).
